Hillside Honey Lowfat Sweet and Sour Sauce
Great recipe for broiled chicken or fish.
1 small Onion
2 1/2 tsp. Sugar
1 Tbsp. Tomato Puree
1-2 Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. wine or cider vinegar
Juice of 2 citrus fruit-can be lemons, limes, oranges – whatever citrus (or combination of) you want.
Thinly slice the onion. Place up the sides of a bowl. Sprinkle with the sugar and leave for a couple of hours. Put the onion juice (not the onion) in a small pan with all the other ingredients. Heat for 2 minutes until a bit syrupy.
*You may finely grind the onion if you are in a hurry.
